Overview

RemoteTech allows you to construct vast relay networks of communication satellites and remotely controlled unmanned vehicles.
Your unmanned vessels require an uplink to a command station to be controlled. Mission Control at the Kerbal Space Center delivers a vast omnidirectional antenna that will reach your vessels up to and slightly beyond Minmus.

  4. Just to make it clear. Cilph is indeed very much in charge of RemoteTech now. Since starting work, I’ve gone on a partial-complete retirement from being a mod dev.

  8. The mod made it so normal squad antennae don’t work for sending out research, was there something wrong in my installation? (like module manager or something)

  14. If you have pink textures, you didn’t install it properly… All you have to do is merge the GameData folder. I thought that was standard procedure.

  15. this is one of my “must install” mods, but i don’t really like the new antennae range and the omnidirectional transmitter… how can i edit the transmitter at KSC and the range for the antennae?

  16. It says there isnt a signal delay in this version… but there is. Could you change things around so either there isn’t signal delay or the things you say are correct?

  17. Im so Confused. This plugin looks awesome but i have 1 satellite up in orbit and whenever i look at people playing with Remote Tech, they have a remote tech Window. I don’t. What do i do? Im so confused yet So excited for this plugin!

  21. my remote tech doesn’t work my satellite are in perfect “save file edited” geosynchronous orbit 120 degrees apart and it’s not working, PLS FIX.

  23. The link says 1.2.6 but the download is 1.2.7. I have tried everything I can think of but this mod still is not working… I have followed youtube videos to the letter and it still does not link up with the ground. I have a steam install that may be contributing to the issue. Anyone else running into this issue? forgot to mention I also tried a fresh install from steam with no other mods installed and it still wont work. It looks like a pretty awesome mod that will bring some new fun to the game!

  26. I cannot load the 0.23 with Remote Tech 2 included. It always sticks on “giant dish” while loading :( Please fix it as soon as possible. I love this addon.

  33. Ok, I’ve played around with it and you can fix the problem with the parts not loading, by removing the ModuleManager_1_5.dll, but by doing so you will not actually be able to use the remote part, IE: the mod won’t really do anything…

  37. The internal antenna only works out to a few km. You need to put an external antenna on. They will get you into orbit as long as you maintain line of sight to KSC.

    I had problems with this mod just like that. Had it installed to a different directory, found that the default one created no problems where my secondary made many with different mods.

  43. I’m having problems installing it. I let mod manager install it and then tried it manually, but I keep getting the same problem. The game loads just fine but none of the RT dishes and parts show up in the VAB. I tried installing it like all my other mods by just copying the file into gamedata.

  44. Hey can somebody help me in 0.22 when ever I make a ship with a coms device my poor kerbal gets sent flying into space wit the map focused on the sun! (Kraken?) sometimes, that happens to the entire ship! I am only using tac life support, interstellar,interstellar tech tree, deadly reentry,KWRocketry and B9 aerospace! help will be rewarded with a thank you.

  46. @Lot-Howton I believe the problem my be interstellar I use about 3 times the number of mods as you, nut had to delete all of them due to interstellar, I believe its a problem with one of the parts being incompatible w/ 2.3 the sci station I think but I don’t know…

  49. So quick question. I just updated everything to .23 and I no longer see the SPU for relay networks. I see the ones for remote control and for the 6+ kerbal control. I tried using several of the remote control ones but the satellites won’t connect to each other at all. What’s the new trick here as I had a huge commsat network that worked in .22?

  51. Need some modification to fit in RSS.
    Beside, if my satellite lost connection and I jump to another one through the map, the game, and the satellite, crashed, make it hard to build a whole communication system with only a few GSO satellites working.

  57. So, does this mod purely make the game harder? I like the sounds of making use of better comms, but it would be nice if it also helped us in some way. For instance, does it increase the amount of science you get for transmitting data, since it would now be harder to transmit?

  58. It adds complexity, purpose and realism to the game. Might be more work for more casual players. Definitely greater planning is involved. I find it gives me greater reason to do things, as I’ve maxed my tech tree. I recently installed it and it seems to be working thus far on .23 of ksp. When in doubt put more antennae on your craft! If anyone has problems with a mod, go to the forum post for that mod as you will receive greater assistance there.

  59. If possible can you add somthing that stores data (you send science to a comand station then when that has a signal to the KSC it sends the data at no extra science cost) it could be made so that it can only hold one of each experiment(one report from sea one report from launch pad one report from kerbins grasslands etc.) per container. This would be usefull for if your probe never or rairly has a link to KSP but it’s command station might have a link when the probe doesn’t so you could send data to the station before you lose a link with it and it could send data back to KSP.

  61. I had a ton of bugs when I used it.
    – The thing that says what you’re connected to floats away into space
    – My vessel spontaniously explodes when loaded
    – When I load a vessel I instead go to the sun
    – All my other vessels still exist but not in the list of vessels in the tracking station

    These are just a few.

    !BUT! I’m gonna redownload and reinstall the mod and try again. I’m not giving up on this, apart of all the bugs, amazing mod.

  62. had trouble with remote tech i love ur mods see had trouble what causes when i carry 3 remote tech with one lauch into space see fine when i sent 1st RT at 600,000 feet to 300,000-to- 600k feet keep line pretty good after 2nd RT next 2nd round to 600k -same 1st to 600k real good line after 3rd RT again 600k to 600k when i press m to zoom it line mess up aint connect correct so what cause ??? please something try to update better hope u fig it out

  64. actually there is a fix on the forums, not on the first page its really far down but there is a link to that page on the main forum page, im using right now and it works perfectly fine, even with the ton of other mods i have, but you need the original download in order for the fix to work
