Overview
The Graphotron 2000 is a part and a plugin used to plot sensor output and flight information.
Requires KSP 0.18!
Seeing all those sensors in KSP 0.18, but not knowing what to do with them? Now, you can use them to do SCIENCE! Use the Graphotron 2000 to plot sensor output and flight data against time and get insight into the performance of your space rocket, the usefulness of Duna atmosphere for aerobraking at differentt altitudes, and whatever else you can come up with.
Thanks to DYJ for providing the awesome part model, and to khyperia for the great pixel font.

Installation
Place the "Parts" and "Plugins" folder contents into the respective folders in your KSP install. Restart the game.
How to use
The Graphotron 2000 can be found in the Science tab of the VAB/SPH.
Right-click the Graphotron 2000 in flight to bring up the interface. Click the "Sources" button to select data sources for your plot. Set the plot resolution (how much time equals to 1 pixel of plot width), the desired plot height, and choose whether to print min/max labels or a legend on the plot, and whether to use a large font. Click the "Draw Plot" button to start collecting and plotting data, click it again to stop.
When plotting is active, data is always collected from all available sources. You can switch sources and various options on and off while plotting without loss of data (exception: reducing the number of data points will erase all data points beyond the new number).
Click "Save to PNG" to save the current plot to a .png file, located at [your KSP folder]/PluginData/Graphotron/[date time].png. Click "Save to CSV" to create a CSV file with the raw data of the currently displayed graph at the same location.
When the Graphotron UI is hidden, plotting does not stop. The Graphotron 2000 will continue plotting until stopped manually, no ElectricCharge is available, or it is destroyed or detached from the craft.
You can toggle the Graphotron UI as well as the plotting process using action group assignments.
Troubleshooting
If you are not getting data from your sensors, check that they are activated and attached to the same vessel as the Graphotron.
If the "Draw plot" button keeps deactivating itself, check there is enough ElectricCharge available to power the Graphotron.
Printing graph legend is only possible using the large font.
This is nice, I’ll certainly use it a lot!
Awesome looking cant wait to try!!!!!!
How can I use this
no .18 yet for me
It seems now there is.
Is there a way to hide the panel? it looks like it chews up a large amount of screen space.
Handy little plotter. Allows for much greater use of the science sensors. Graph is small however and only can output a PNG with no graph options besides what sensor input. Recommend expanding graph options with adjustable window, output to table (.txt), and possibly new sensors like light or coordinates. 3/5 rating
While interesting graph is too small and can only output to JPG. Recommend including adjustable window and table data output. Else, handy way of viewing the sensor data on the fly.
This needs some kind of way to save whole graphs, not only current graphs in the window
But great work nonetheless!
Love it but wish you had a link to the source code. I am not a good programmer but I can mod programs once they are written. I just want to take that data and instead of putting it in a useless picture I would put the data in a cvs file.
Awesome idea!
Nice mod.
A larger window would be nice, and what is dynamic preassure?
I never downloaded a mod, and will likely not download another one. But this… I just had to. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t alter the balance of the game, but gives a purpose to the scientific instruments introduced with 0.18. The Graphotron should be KSP standard issue!
Looks great! May I make a suggestion though? If the x-axis (currently time) would be able to be changed to be any of the other data inputs, that could make for some interesting comparisons. An easy example to imagine is plotting the pressure on the y-axis, and the altitude on the x-axis, which should trace out the exponentially decreasing atmosphere.
Neat addon, and definitely on the right track. But it really needs a UI toggle button that sits in the bottom left corner (like MapSat and Protractor), so I don’t have to hunt for the part on my craft. Needs an expandable graph window. Would benefit greatly from a method of logging and exporting data, perhaps in a .CSV file or something similar, for later manipulation and visualizations in an external app.
Even more than a graph of the output, I’d love a CSV file with the output for later scientific analysis.
It does need a UI toggle, parked neatly next to ISA Map Sat hopefully! Congrats on the CSV output! Hopefully the universe will get more realistic and stuff will be less on rails so any semblence of science could have a purpose (if we don’t cheat and check the wiki of course :b).
Although lately my graphotron has ceased working. Idk why.
Right click it and nothing comes up. Any idea if it clashes with any mods out atm?
wow color orbits d:
